Audaces Adventures: Zambia
Making an impact in Zambia
The adventure of a lifetime
Is it a calling or a coincidence that some of the most dramatic landscapes in the world are also home to some of the most disadvantaged communities on earth? We say it is a calling. Zambia’s Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River feeds an ecosystem that brings you an unrivalled wildlife experience yet the surrounding communities continue to live below the poverty line. This is a chance to visit the best of Africa – whilst giving back to her people the precious gift of education.
After successfully raising US$460k towards an innovative social project in Zambia, London based Audaces Impact is inviting its social investors and impact angels to join them on a unique experience to visit the impact you have made to The Mwandi Project in Zambia, whilst immersing in a cultural and wildlife adventure near the Victoria Falls.
For 6 nights and 7 days you will travel with one of Zambia’s treasured expedition leaders. From day 1 you will set up camp under the stars in 2-man canvas safari dome tents. You will shop for your own food supplies at local stows and visit local markets for fresh fruit and vegetables. A local cook will travel with you to prepare your meals. A local driver will transport you overland with a purpose built adventure truck. This gives the group the flexibility to travel as you wish and stay as long as you like at your destination.
Arriving at the campsite you will be transformed into the wild and will be able to explore nature in all its glory.
You will be staying in tents and by camping during this trip you tread lightly and benefit the local community more. The campsite is set in the grounds of a beautiful safari lodge; so you will never be too far from creature comforts including the bar, the swimming pool and other facilities. You have access to all these facilities whilst staying in the campsite. Lead by your Zambian expedition leader, you will go deeper and tread responsibly in the communities you visit, making a positive difference to the lives in a mutually respectful way.
Your group will take your time to visit the Victoria Falls. This amazing wonder is double the height of Niagara Falls in Canada and a mile long – one of the greatest natural shows on earth.
The Zambezi River is the pulsing vein of Zambia flanked by lush national parks home to the Big 5. It serves as a border between Zambia and Zimbabwe and great for white water rafting and kayaking.
Your leader will take you on treks as well as visits to local villages and be at hand whenever you need him. Learn new survival skills, get insight into local Zambian way of life and learn something new.

Africa is a growing continent. Its populations are expanding. Many of its economies are now growing at unprecedented levels. However, the majority of the Continent’s people don’t experience any benefit and remain in subsistence lifestyles, largely because of a lack of good education. With very young populations (typically as much as 50% may be under the age of 16), small tax bases, too few trained teachers, and a lack of infrastructure and resources, children face large class sizes with traditional rote / memorised learning methods being the standard way of teaching. iSchool seeks to change this by introducing modern Interactive enquiry-based learning and all the resources needed by teachers and students on a preloaded tablet. It can be powered from solar and works as well in deep rural country schools as it does in good schools in the capital city. Materials in English and eight local languages give children a new chance: to become problem solvers and change their life circumstances. iSchool aims to be the first step on the road out of poverty.
